United Nations International Day of Persons with Disabilities: We have a lot to contribute!

Since 1992, the United Nations International Day of Persons with Disabilities (IDPD) has been observed annually on December 3rd to promote the full and equal participation of persons with disabilities and to take action for inclusion.
In the situation of the covid-19 pandemic inequalities have been exacerbated with a substantial impact on the lives of persons with disabilities. During this period, we appreciate maybe more than ever before the important role of technology and accessibility for equal opportunities and how research and development help us promote digital inclusion and embrace equality with and for the use of assistive technology.
The theme of the IDPD this year is “Building Back Better: toward a disability-inclusive, accessible and sustainable post COVID-19 World”. In this framework we invite you to join us to support activities AAATE is involved in and turn your attention to the imperative of the Bologna Declaration 2019 on improving Access to Quality Assistive Technology.
The International Day of Persons with Disabilities is about recognizing, understanding and protecting the rights of persons with disabilities.
As European AT community we have a lot to contribute!
