Call for Nominations 2020-2021 for the UNESCO/Emir Jaber al-Ahmad al-Jaber al-Sabah Prize for Digital Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities
If you want to share the innovative ideas for digital empowerment of persons or groups you can submit you application for the the 2020/2021 UNESCO/Emir Jaber al-Ahmad al-Jaber al-Sabah Prize for Digital Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities. The aim of the Prize is to reward the outstanding contributions of individuals and organizations that promote inclusion and the enhancement of the lives of persons with disabilities in society through the effective, innovative and inclusive application of digital solutions, including an immediate response to the COVID-19 outbreak. Nominations close on 2 September 2020.
It is UNESCO ’s vision to create knowledge societies that are inclusive, pluralistic, equitable, open and participatory for all its citizens.
The theme of the Prize for Digital Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities 2020 is innovative ideas targeting people living with disabilities for immediate response to the COVID-19 pandemic. This covers any of these three lines of action aimed at creating benefits:
- formulating policy, advocacy, co-operation and partnerships;
- creating and developing digital solutions, enabling environments and processes, including tools and resources; and
- building and strengthening capacities of people to create, adapt and use digital solutions in a cost efficient and sustainable manner.
